MODERN LANGUAGE TEXTS

EDITED BY OTTO SIEPMANN
Head of the Modern Language Department at Clifton College, and

EUGÈNE PELLISSIER
Professeur Agrégé au Lycée du Havre

Per volume, 35 cents These are small 16mo volumes, well bound and printed, and admirably adapted for use in the classroom. Each volume is edited by a specialist, according to the general plan adopted for the series. This plan includes, besides the text, an introduction, a biographical sketch of the author, copious notes, and (in most cases) a vocabulary. The appendices by the general editor include words and phrases for viva voce drill, sentences on syntax and idioms for viva voce practice, and passages for translation into French.

New Edition, Cluth, 12mo, illustrated, $0.90 This brief history of France is written in simple French and is quite suitable for use as a reader in second year French classes. The book is designed to give reading matter of educational value and to furnish in brief form a history of France suitable for the use of students too mature for the unsatisfactory abridgments and too busy to use the more voluminous works. The style is clear, simple, and interesting. The facts are dependable, having been gathered from such authorities as Guizot, Rambaud, Michelet, and others.
