About the author (2000)

Amy Benjamin teaches English and is department leader at Hendrick Hudson High School in Montrose, New York. She holds a Masters in Educational Administration from the State University College of New York at New Paltz, and is an adjunct professor at Brooklyn College, where she teaches off campus graduate courses through various teacher centers, including Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES. Amy runs workshops and presents at various local and national conferences. She has written several articles and books on educational topics, including Writing in the Content Areas (Larchmont, NY: Eye on Education, 1999).She is recognized by the New York State Council of English Teachers as a Teacher of Excellence and by Tufts University as an inspirational teacher. She has served as a model teacher for the New York State Education Department.
