G MODELE The Remark which Learners may make on the Verbs of this Conjugation is, that the Prefent and the Preterite of the Subjunctive Mood have nearly the fame inflections; as they only differ, with 1. refpect to their terminations, in the third Perfon of the Singular Number; viz. il finiffe, in the Prefent, and il finit, in the Preter. Je reçuffe, Tu reçufles, Il reçût, I might receive; Nous reçuffions, We might receive; Compofé du Préf. J'aie reçu, I may have received; Thou may't have received; He may have received; Comp. de l'Imp. J'aurois reçu, I should have received; Thou should't have received; He hould have received: Comp. du. Let us receive; receive or receive you z Qu'ils recoivent, let them receive. The Verbs that are conjugated like this Model, are only Apercevoir, Concevoir, Décevoir, and Percevoir; for the Verb Devoir (to owe) and its derivative Redevoir, though Regular, yet not ending in cevoir, have never a cedilla (ç) before o and 'u, but take the le.ter d before thofe inflections; as je dois, &c. and je dus, &c.
