102 I have not departed from thy judgments for thou hast taught me.

As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord: My Spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and forever. Isa. lix. 21.

It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. John vi. 45.

Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come. Acts xxvi. 22.

103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth.

My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honey-comb, which is sweet to thy taste: So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy

soul when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off. Prov. xxiv. 13, 14.

Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts. Jer. xv. 16.

104 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. John xvii. 17.

The wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. James iii. 17.

105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles. Psalm xliii. 3.

To the law and to the testimonies: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. Isa. viii. 20.

106 I have sworn, and I will perform it, that I will keep thy righteous judgments.

The king stood by a pillar, and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord, and to keep his commandments, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all their heart, and with all their soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the peo

ple stood to the covenant. 2 Kings xxiii. 3.

And the rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the porters, the singers, the Nethinims, and all they that had separated themselves from the people of the lands unto the law of God, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, every one having knowledge, and having understanding;

They clave to their brethren, their nobles, and entered into a curse, and into an oath, to walk in God's law, which was given by Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of the Lord our Lord, and his judgments, and his statutes. Neh. x. 28, 29.

Vow, and pay unto the Lord your God. Psalm lxxvi. 11.

When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.

Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.

Eccl. v.

much :

107 I am afflicted very quicken me, O Lord, according unto thy word.

Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.

Thou, which hast showed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth. Psalm lxxi. 3, 20.

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,

and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn. Isa. lxi. 1, 2.

108 Accept, I beseech thee, the freewill-offerings of my mouth, O Lord, and teach me thy judgments.

I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.

This also shall please the Lord better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs.

lxix. 30, 31.

Psalm

Many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. Micah iv. 2.

By him (Christ) therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to his name. Heb. xiii. 15.

Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should
