95 The wicked have waited for me to destroy me: but I will consider thy testimonies.

The fear of the Lord tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil. Prov. xix. 23.

96 I have seen an end of all perfection: but thy commandment is exceeding broad.

I have seen all the works that are done under the sun and behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit. Eccl. i. 14.

Then I saw that wisdom excelleth folly, as far as light excelleth darkness. Eccl. ii. 13.

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.

The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

More to be desired are they than gold, yea than

much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honey-comb.

Moreover, by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward. Psalm xix. 7-11.

MEM.

97 Oh how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.

Through desire, a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom. Prov. xviii. 1.

Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

1 Tim. iv. 15.

98 Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies for they are ever with me.

Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the Lord understand all things. Prov. xxviii. 5.

The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken; lo, they have rejected the word of the Lord; and what wisdom is in them? Jer. viii. 9.

Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:

But let him that glorieth, glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord. Jer. ix. 23, 24.

For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling-block, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ, the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

Because the foolishness of God is wiser than

men; and the weakness of God is stronger than

men.

For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble are called:

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.

And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are : That no flesh should glory in his presence.

But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. 1 Cor. i. 19-31.

99 I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.

Wisdom strengtheneth the wise more than ten mighty men which are in the city. Eccl. viii. 19.

We have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might

know the things that are freely given to us of God. 1 Cor. ii. 12.

I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. Gal. i. 12.

100 I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Prov. ix. 10.

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. Matt. vi. 22.

If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. John vii. 17.

101 I have refrained my feet from
evil way,
that I might keep thy

every

word.

Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Prov. iv. 26.

Herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men. Acts xxiv. 16.
