L'histoire de la mise en scène dans le théatre français à Paris de 1600 à 1673

Front Cover
A. Nizet, 1960 - French drama - 165 pages
This volume presents a treatment of the history of theatrical Paris in the 17th century, which the author initially addressed in 1933. In the interim, significant research by other authors and the discovery of new source documents indicated that an updated text was in order. The time period examined has been extended to 1673, the year that Molière died, and when the closure of Le Théâtre du Marais and the founding of Théâtre de l'Hôtel Guénégaud brought an end to a theatrical era.
