DERBY MINING

CENTRE

Coal Mining Classes, similar to those of the College "Certificate Course," are held at St. Andrew's School, Derby, under the auspices of the Derbyshire County Council.

The Course extends over two years, and instruction is given in Mining, Chemistry, Elementary Mechanics, Steam, Mine Surveying, and Machine Drawing. The classes in Steam and Machine Drawing are held in alternate years with those in Mine Surveying, and these three subjects should be attended by first and second years' students conjointly. This Session the subject of Mine Surveying will be taken, next Session those of Steam and Machine Drawing.

A Certificate is awarded by the College to those students who pass satisfactory Examinations in all the subjects.

The Classes will begin on Saturday, September 24th.
