* Battre and its derivatives have a trifling irregularity in their orthography, losing one t in the three first persons of the present of the indicative, and second person singular of the imperative: example, je bats, tu bats, il but-buts. Rompre, and its derivatives, require t to be added to the third person singular of the ndicative present: example, il rompt, corrompt, &c.
