(p) Thine own friend and thy father's friend forsake not.

(9) The stranger that dwelleth with you, shall be unto you as one born amongst you, and thou shalt love him as thyself.

(r) Ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, thou Thalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy: But Christ saith unto you, love your enemies. For if thou love them which love you, what reward have ye? What do you more than others? Do not even the publicans the same? For sinners also love those that love them.

(s) Thou shalt not bear any grudge against the children of thy people. Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned; behold the judge standeth before the door.

HONOUR and RESPECT.

(w) Be kindly affectioned one to another; in honour preferring one another.

(x) Look not every man on his own things; but every man also on the things of others.

(y) Let there be no strife among you, which of you should be accounted the greatest. Let nothing be done through strife or vain-glory, but

in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

(%) Honour all men. If ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? Do not even the publicans so?

(a) Ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder; yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility.

(b) Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father, and the younger men as brethren; the elder women as mothers, the younger as sisters,

(c) Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man.

(d) Let not the child behave himself proudly against the ancient, nor the base against the honourable.

(e) Honour widows that are widows indeed. (f) He that despiseth his neighbour, sinneth.

(g) Let us not accept any man's person, neither let us give flattering titles unto man; having mens persons in admiration because of advantage.

(b) Let no man glory in men, nor be puffed up for one against another.

(i) They that forsake the law, praise the wicked; but such as keep the law, contend with them: In whose eyes a vile person is contemned. But they honour them that fear the Lord.

PEACE

(a) Go not forth hastily to strive, lest thou know not what to do in the end thereof, when thy neighbour have put thee to shame.

(b) Debate thy cause with thy neighbour himself, and discover not a secret to another; lest he that heareth it put thee to shame, and thine infamy turn not away.

(c) The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water; therefore leave off contention before it be meddled with.

(d) As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire, so is a contentious man to kindle strife.

(e) Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people.

(f) Where no wood is there the fire goeth out, so where there is no tale-bearer, the strife ceaseth. For a tale-bearer revealeth secrets, and a whisperer separateth friends; but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.

(g) Only by pride cometh contention; but with the well-advised is wisdom.

(b) Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease. For scornful men bring a city into a snare; but wise men turn away wrath.

(i) From whence come wars and fightings among you? Come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members ?

(e) He loveth transgression that loveth strife. (1) It is an honour for a man to cease from strife, but every fool will be meddling.

The

:

(m) The lot causeth contention to cease, and parteth between the mighty.

(n) Whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions; are ye not carnal, and walk as men? For while one saith, I am of Paul, and another, I am of Apollos, and I of Cephas, and I of Christ: Are ye not carnal? Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul? Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?

(0) If ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not: For this wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish; but the wisdom that is from above is peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated.

(p) There must be heresies and divisions among you; that they which are approved may be made manifest. But wo unto them through whom these offences come.

(2) He that will love life, and see good days, let him seek peace, and ensue it.

(r) Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

(s) Can two walk together, except they be agreed.

(t) Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation: And every city or house divided against itself shall not stand.

(u) If ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

(w) Whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause, shall be in danger of the judgment.

(x) Blessed are the peace-makers, for they shall be called the children of God. But him that soweth discord among brethren, the Lord hateth.

JUSTICE.

In GENERAL.

(y) Thus saith the Lord, execute ye judgment and righteousness. That which is altogether just shalt thou follow.

(z) All things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do you even 'so to them; for this is the law and the prophets

(a) Render to all their dues: Tribute to whom tribute is due, custom to whom custom, fear to whom fear, honour to whom honour.

(b) Ye must be faithful in all things. In all your labours let none iniquity be found in you.

(c) He that is faithful in that which is least, is faithful also in much; and he that is unjust in the least, is unjust also in much. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
