The Prayer of Confecration. mer A Lmighty God, our heavenly Father, who of thy tender cy didst give thine only Son Jefus Chrift to fuffer death upon the Crofs for our redemption, who made there (by his one oblation of himself once offered) a full, perfect, and fufficient facrifice, oblation, and fatisfaction for the fins of the whole world, i and did institute, and in his holy Gospel command us to continue a perpetual memory of that his precious Death, until his coming again; Hear us, O merciful Father, we most humbly befeech thee, and grant that we receiving thefe thy creatures of Bread and Wine, according to thy Son our Saviour Jefus Chrifts holy institution, in remembrance of his Death and Paffion, may be partakers of his most bleffed Body and Blood: Who in the fame night that he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks he brake it, and gave it to his difciples, faying, Take, eat, this is my Body which is given for you, do this in remembrance of me. Let the remembrance of my Sins, and of my Saviour's bitter fufferings for them create in me a hearty Repentance of them, and engage me for ever to love and ferve him who laid down bis life for me. Cleanfe me, O Lord, from all filthiness of Flesh and Spirit, that I may be a meet Guest at thy Table, and a real partaker of those Benefits which Chrift hath purchased for me: and accept of thefe my fin cere Defires through the fame Jefus Christ. At the delivery of the Bread. HE Body of our Lord Jefus Chrift, which was given for tace, preferve thy body and foul unto everlafting life. Take and eat this in remembrance that Chrift died for thee, and feed on him in thy heart by faith with thanksgiving. At the delivery of the Cup. T HE Blood of our Lord Jefus Christ, which was shed for thee, preferve thy body and foul unto everlasting life. Drink this in remembrance that Chrifts Blood was fhed for thee, and be thankful. A Prayer after receiving the Sacrament. Praife and magnify thy glorious Name, O God, for the opportunity thou hast afforded me this Day, of commemorating thy unSpeakable Love, in the Redemption of the World by thy Son Jefus Chrift; and of making this publick profeffion of my Faith in him. Let it be an eternal obligation upon me of Love and Obedience to thee. And O grant me fuch a measure of thy Grace and affiftance, as may enable me to be more careful and diligent in the discharge of my Duty; and to walk as the redeemed of the Lord, in all holiness and godliness of Life, through the fame Jefus Chrift our Saviour. Our Father, &c. O Lord and heavenly Father, we thy humble servants, entirely defire thy Fatherly goodnefs, mercifully to accept this our facrifice of praife and thanksgiving; moft humbly befeeching thee to grant, that by the merits and death of thy Son Jesus Christ, and through faith in his Blood, we and all thy whole Church may obtain remission of our fins, and all other benefits of his paffion. And here we offer and prefent unto thee, O Lord, ourselves, our fouls, and bodies, to be a reasonable, holy, and lively facrifice unto thee; humbly befeeching thee, that all we who are partakers of this holy Communion, may be fulfilled with thy grace and heavenly benediction. And although we be unworthy through our manifold fins to offer unto thee any facrifice; yet we beseech thee to accept this our bounden duty and fervice; not weighing our merits, but pardoning our offences, through Jefus Chrift our Lord; by whom, and with whom, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, all honour and glory be unto thee, O Father Almghty, world with.
