The appetite for stories of civilized life seems nearly sated among habitual novel readers, but here is something really new. An Antiquarian, digging about the site of ancient Troy, thinks he has found the foundations of Priam's Palace, in which Hector sacrificed to Zeus. Five Japanese Princes have lately come to this country to receive an English education at an American College. Dr. Peters, director of the Litchfield Observatory of Hamilton College, on the 20th September discovered a new planet-the 112th of the asteroids. A Miss Green has been admitted to membership in the Pittsburgh Typographical Union, being the first woman admitted to that body. Rev. E. Bickersteth, author of "Yesterday, To-day, and Forever," is now in this country. The Crown Prince of Prussia received his English education from Prof. Thacher, of Yale College, who was his tutor for some time. Thomas Hughes, author of "Tom Brown at Oxford," is now in this country giving lectures. His first one he has just given in Boston. The Rev. S. J. Wilson, D. D., Professor in the Western Theological Seminary, has returned from a European tour, much improved in health, and has resumed his duties in the Seminary. Lafayette Monthly.
